Life is what you make out of it - Hitarth Jani

Life is what you make out of it – were the words of my grandfather when i asked him in one of the afternoon sessions i used to have with him one on one in summer vacations. 

When everybody else in household would prefer to have a nap on lazy summer afternoons, i would be awake talking to him about his views on life, philosophy, religions and his life experiences. May be i was that lucky kid who had a father figure to answer my questions full of curiosity. He too would answer all my questions with equal zeal with a glitter in his eyes that never faded till the end. I was also a stubborn soul who would never settle with an answer until it fits into my logical mind. This somehow brought the best of his sharing of life experiences and philosophy with me.

As a kid i was always fascinated how my Grandfather led his life right from his childhood when he was 5 years old till the end. I have not seen anyone yet with that will power in them to live the life on their own terms as i saw in him.

Imagine a person having lost his 10 siblings one after another within few years time, having lost his mother at age of 16, grown up doing all household chores by himself and also working simultaneously in order to keep the things moving, leaving home in order to search for a better tomorrow in such tough times – I once asked him how did you managed to do that all by yourself? He said - It is simple. When you clear out all irrelevant obstacles from your way, you become in tune and in direct touch with your life.

This above example and such numerous life experiences you don’t find anyone else in world but from your elders. Today 100 years on his teachings, philosophy and legacy remains.

I was thinking about how it was when we were young. I never thought in a million years I would ever miss You Brother or wish we were kids again, just for one day. I realized how I took for granted the special times of our youth. I realized what a special bond we have with each other. I realized my brother's will always be there for me, no matter what. In that, I have found great comfort and the regrets of days past linger no more. But are filled with cords of a love song that only my brothers can sing. I thank God for blessing me with them. I am proud of all they have accomplished. It brings a smile to my heart when I see them as a boys who grew up to be very amazing men...I am so proud of u all...Cheers to You..

I can imagine the atmosphere over there..purviben n Shanki must be ready with there pujathalis and Himaniben just like us must be missing this scenario..aur sab bhai log bathe honge aur meri pyari baheno ko chidhate honge as usual..I know Dhiman and Miku too will not be able to accompany you but still My love to them too..bhai log aur ek bat sun lo rakhi toh ap logo ko milgaye honge but I am waitin for my "Cover"..hahaahahah..I am too missin all my Kaka-kaki's, Foi-Fua's ,Bhabhi's and the very Special Ba...all must be in good mood and must be enjoying this wonderfull day of bonding..love to all..I can't write more bcoz I don't know how to write an Emotional Letter...and for me it's not worth Writing A Letter but it's really worth Felling and Missing Your dear .

Hitarth is "Aussie"

Hitarth, on last monday became the first person to have passed Australian Citizenship Examination from our family. And what a way to achieve this feat. He scored 95 % of marks in the Examination. He will be able to apply for the Citizenship and after approval will be conferred with the Citizenship in a special Pledge ceremony.

Dhiman Got Engaged

Hello All,

What a milestone year this has been. Firstly Kinni moving to USA for pursuing higher studies. Secondly Miku obtaining the Job of his dreams and now this - Our Beloved Brother is no more in Bachelors group guys. Lets give him Engagement Bums :D like Birthday Bums... Lolz.

And although its October already but the year is still not over yet. Somewhere later this year Miku will be appearing in Citizenship examination of Australia and again we Jani's will be rocking somehwhere in the world as we always do :)

An Astonishing Fact

I found a great fact today while calculating dates. According, to the information i have, Last person to Die in our family was Manikanth Sankalchand Jani (Brother of Ratilal Dada) in 1943. With the passing away of Ratilal Dada, earlier this year, our family have faced such a demise for the first time in 65 years which is something really great if you compare it with the days when no one was really able to survive for more than 50 years in our family.

This is what, Hitarth Harish Jani, have been doing since July 2006, when he passed out of his Masters of Information Technology course. After putting his heart and soul in pursuing his higher degree, he had been struggling to get a good reasonable job of his standards. Finally, after some initial disappointments - he has been selected in an International company called Panalpina (www.panalpina.com). He has been included into IT department of the company and will be closely working with HR - IT and Finance departments. This is indeed an ultimate achievement - a career in a respected international company, in a respected field.

Preface

Since my childhood, I have always heard about life of my Grand father, Ratilal Jani. Have always seen people talking about his terrific past and the way he has led his life. One day, while speaking to him, I asked him if he had a message for Young guns of our family. His message fascinated me. Later, I took courage to ask him about his recollections so that I could pen them down before they were buried under the sands of time.

At present he is 92 years of age. It’s very difficult for him to now recollect certain scenes of his own life. The conversation with him and the information he provided was not always easy to follow, but always fresh and stimulating. It took me days to organize each and every moment of his life in one pattern. It was difficult but challenging enough to rejuvenate my sleeping caliber within.

This book is written for my family members and generation to come here after. It would be so beneficial for the generations to come and know how legend their forefathers have been, how fascinating their personal stories have been and indeed it would also better to let them know what they accomplished in their life time.

For myself, writing this book has been absolute pilgrimage. It feels as if I am into another world. I may not have included all incidents among many narrated by my Grand Pa and others. I am solely responsible for such things, which are completely unintentional.
